Privacy Policy

Makesour Ltd ("we", "us", or "our") makes ExpiresBy (the "App"), an expiry-date tracker for iPhone and iPad. We built ExpiresBy to be private by design. This policy explains, in plain language, what the App does and does not do with your information. By using ExpiresBy, you agree to the practices described here.

The short version

ExpiresBy has no account, no sign-up, and no servers of our own. Everything you add stays on your device. We do not collect analytics, we do not track you, and we do not sell or share your data — because we never receive it in the first place.

1. Information Stored on Your Device

The items you add — names, expiry dates, categories, locations, quantities, notes, and any photos you attach — are stored locally on your device using Apple's on-device data frameworks. This information is not transmitted to us or to any third party as part of normal use.

2. Camera and Photos

ExpiresBy can use your camera to scan printed expiry dates. Text recognition is performed entirely on your device using Apple's built-in frameworks; images are processed locally and are not uploaded anywhere. If you choose to attach a photo to an item, or to save or import images, that happens through your device and the system permissions you grant. The App accesses the camera or photo library only when you actively choose to use those features.

3. Notifications

With your permission, ExpiresBy schedules local notifications to remind you before items expire. These reminders are generated and delivered on your device by iOS. We do not operate a push-notification server and do not receive information about which reminders you have or when they fire.

4. Analytics and Tracking

There is none. ExpiresBy contains no analytics SDKs, no advertising SDKs, and no third-party trackers. We do not create a profile of you and do not use any cross-app or cross-site tracking.

5. Backups You Create

ExpiresBy lets you export your inventory to a backup file and import it later. When you export, the file is placed wherever you choose — for example the Files app, AirDrop, or iCloud Drive — and is handled by those Apple services under Apple's terms, not by us. We never receive a copy of your backups. You are responsible for storing and sharing your backup files securely.

6. Purchases

ExpiresBy is currently free and contains no in-app purchases, subscriptions, or ads. If paid features are ever introduced, they would be processed by Apple through the App Store — we would not see or store your payment details, and Apple's handling of purchase information would be governed by the Apple Privacy Policy.

7. Children's Privacy

ExpiresBy does not require any personal information and does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children under 13. Because the App has no account and no data collection, there is no personal information for us to gather or store.

8. Data Security

Your data is protected by the security of your own device, including your passcode, Face ID or Touch ID, and iOS system protections. Because your information stays on your device, keeping your device secure keeps your ExpiresBy data secure.

9. Health and Safety Note

ExpiresBy is an organizational tool, not a source of medical, safety, or dietary advice. Expiry and best-before dates in the App are only as accurate as what you enter. Always follow the guidance printed on a product and your own judgment about whether something is safe to use or consume.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes are effective when posted on this page, and the "Last updated" date above will reflect the most recent revision.
